Linked below are two good items that illustrate Frank Reich’s vision for the Indianapolis Colts team he just took over. The first is an article talking about how Reich has gone about implementing his up-tempo philosophy in practice while the second is a video of his first meeting with the Colts rookies.
Reich wants his the speed of his team’s practices to mirror their speed on Sundays. The conditioning phase, altered under new director of sports performance Rusty Jones, was the start. “Changes in the weight room – the way we lift and run to get us back in better condition than in the past, so hopefully we don’t have those fourth-quarter mishaps that we had (in) years past,” said kicker Adam Vinatieri. “Hopefully we’ll be – not hopefully – we will be the best conditioned team in the fourth quarter, and that will make a huge difference.”
