Three good articles are linked below on Coach K’s mid-year decision to shift to playing zone defense. For a team that struggled to get stops in the first month of ACC play, the zone has been nothing short of a revelation. There’s really good stuff in these two articles including Boeheim describing the difference between Cuse’s 2-3 and Duke’s, why Coach K thinks his team is talking more in the zone than they were in man-to-man, and the role the pick & roll had in all of this.
