When St. Anthony High School in Jersey City shutting down this past spring, it left one of the game’s greatest coaches without a team, a gym or a practice to run. Bob Hurley, who won 28 state titles and more than 1,200 games, has filled his time by visiting various teams and watching their games and practices. Hurley is truly the definition of a “Coach’s Coach.” Great piece. Look below the link for a ton of Hurley info. If you haven’t read Miracle of St. Anthony by Adrian Wojnarowski, I highly recommend it.
“There isn’t only one way to play,” he said, “so that’s why I think when you go from one place to another, you always should have pen and paper. You pick up something: It might be a phrase. You pick up a drill. There’s always something.”
