Linked below is an ESPN.com piece that was written shortly after the Dallas Cowboys drafted Dak Prescott in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The article is a really good glimpse at Prescott’s impressive leadership ability. I enjoyed his college coach’s remarks about the difference between things you can’t teach (leadership, etc.) and skills you can develop down the road.
“There are a lot of guys that have the physical ability but don’t have this ability to transfer the confidence to their teammates,” the Cowboys’ Hall of Fame quarterback said. “You’ve got to have a guy that’s confident and competitive, but he also can transfer the importance of being competitive to his team … it’s hard to judge that. That’s why it’s hard in the draft making sure the quarterback has the mental capabilities as well as the physical capabilities.”
Another good piece on how Prescott has turned down all endorsement deals to focus on being the best quarterback he can be for the Cowboys (LINK)
