Nicole Auerbach of USA Today came out with a great series of articles examining the Golden State Warriors’ influence in college basketball circles. Many college coaches (and NBA coaches as well) have studied the Warriors’ success under Kerr and adopted many aspects of their culture/scheme. Auerbach’s main piece (the first one linked below) is terrific as well as her two additional pieces on what specifically Andy Enfield (USC) and Eric Reveno (Portland) have taken from the Golden State organization and brought to their own programs.
Things Popularized by the Warriors’ Success
1. Two-Ball Dribbling (Stephen Curry warmups)
2. Premium placed on spacing, ball movement and skill
3. The emergence of the “Playmaking 4”
4. Player-friendly approach to practice/workouts
