*I got a chance to visit the Boston Celtics facility to observe Brad Stevens’ team’s training camp yesterday. Celtics associate head coach Jay Larranaga is a brilliant offensive mind so I thought I would post my notes from a clinic of his I attended in June:
Below are a set of notes taken from Jay Larranaga’s demonstration at last week’s “Sylvan Advantage Basketball Roundtable” held at Kimball Union Academy. As the son of an extremely successful college coach who enjoyed an extensive playing career overseas before having the opportunity to work for both Doc Rivers and Brad Stevens at the NBA level (as well as spending 2 seasons as a head coach in the NBA Developmental League), Larranaga has a very diverse background in the game. One of the better clinics I’ve seen with some really good coaching concepts as well as the best late-game BLOB stuff Larranaga has seen. I appreciate Chris Leazier of Sportstec for inviting me to the clinic.
