Linked below is a great article from the Philadelphia Inquirer on Denver Nuggets guard (and Chester, Pa. native) Jameer Nelson. The 20th pick in the 2004 Draft, Nelson is entering his 14th season. Nelson’s career seemed to be nearing a close when he was traded twice in a span of 30 days during the 2014-15 season, but it has been revitalized since landing with the Nuggets. Great stuff in here to share with your players.
“It’s amazing — it’s beyond amazing,’’ said Nelson’s St. Joseph’s coach, Phil Martelli. “Each summer, I’ll say to him, what’s the plan? It’s very regimented and very specific, in terms of dates he’s going to start, how he eats. The greatest thing about him, he has never been afraid to be alone. If you’re with him, you’re going to match him or you’re not going to be there. He’s not going to cave.”
