I really enjoyed this New York Times piece on the job Antonio Conte has done since taking over as Chelsea’s manager six months ago. Good stuff in here on Conte’s 24/7 promise about Chelsea’s facility, “Supper Club,” the team meeting with the groundskeepers when he managed Juventus, and the discipline/appreciation trade-off that Conte claims he is constantly monitoring.
The players have welcomed his affection, but his kindness is not without purpose. “I ask a lot,” Conte once wrote of his management style. “So I know when to say thank you.”
