I got a ton out of this interview with Jay Wright posted on BBALLBREAKDOWN. I really enjoyed Wright’s thoughts on Villanova’s “catch to shoot” philosophy and I included some of my takeaways below:
-Play off your jump shot.
-The most open you will ever be is when you first catch the ball.
-Start thinking about your shot before you catch the ball.
-Fight the urge to “catch and dribble” or “catch and hold.”
-First thing you should do on a catch is put it in your shot pocket.
